Expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms as the southwest monsoon or habagat affects Metro Manila and the western sections of Luzon and Visayas, weather bureau PAGASA said Thursday.

Affected areas include Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau earlier said the Philippines will experience 13 to 18 tropical cyclones this year, below the average number of typhoons that normally enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility annually.
