Tension rose in front of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ in Sasa, Davao City early Monday as more than 100 police officers from various Philippine National Police units arrived to reportedly serve a warrant against its leader Apollo Quiboloy, who is facing abuse and trafficking cases in courts in the city and in Pasig City.
It is yet unclear if police served a search warrant or an arrest warrant.
Supporters also showed up at the entrance gate to call for โjusticeโ for the fugitive pastor, who remains at large. One supporter also used a megaphone to defend Quioboloy from the issues he is facing.
Quiboloy and his supporters have denied the allegations of sexual abuse and trafficking, saying these were made by former members who have grudges against the religious group.
He has also denied allegations of rape, saying his women followers fight each other to be with him.
